It’s been the 6th year in a row that people of Yalutorovsk, the Tumen Region, try to make the largest record-breaking pancake. It’s pretty much the same year by year – the same frying pan of three meters in diameter, the same cooking technique and the same people. When this year their batter began to burn once they poured it onto the frying pan, it became obvious they were not going to make it again.
Let’s start with some photographs of the unlucky ritual taken in 2012.

It seems people still were happy and enjoyed the pancake.

Winter, 2011. There were two teams competing with each other in which pancake was going to be better. One team used 40 liters of batter while the other team used 50 liters. Both of them failed…

Reinforcements needed! Quick, call in the French!
Well… thats a shame, still cant let it go to waste OM NOM NOM…
One of my favourite food actually, I make it when ever I can.
Well seems to me that they need some Vermont Maple Syrup to go along with that pan cake. I think the problem is that the pan gets to hot and un even heat to some extent. I don’t think the french would be much help here, then again, they would be the first ones I would talk to about it, The French are wonders in the Kitchen and that goes twice for the Italians. Never the less it looks like a great way to spend a mid winter week end. Where is my invitation? I have Maple Syrup and I do love pancakes.
Lol. Vermont maple syrup?
Vermont has nothing on Québec when it comes to Maple Syrup.
A bit of a mess, but it looks like it tastes good.
