    Assembly Of Offroaders In Vladivostok

Sollers is a plant in Vladivostok where offroaders are produced. We have a chance to visit the place and will be guided through the assembly process.

One can enter the territory of the plant by having registered at the enrance. Employees of the plant have special passes.

After the entrance one gets right into a huge workshop. The place can be crossed only by the yellow zebra crossings.

The parts are taken from a ship that comes from South Korea. That is why one side of the plant faces the sea.

All parts that need to go through assembly enter the part of the plant.

This is what a car body looks like when it just arrives to the plant. It is sent to the car wash right away.

After that they are protected with safety enclosures not to be damaged while the rest of equipment is installed.

The tables indicate a color and model of fixture elements. If some elements are over, an empty box is put on the upper shelf and removed by a loader later.

All other details are stored right here.

The car bodies are waiting to be assembled.

The body is first marked. Data are stored in the computer. A table is attached.

It has a VIN-code on it.

The process is carried out manually.

Engines and other details necessary for assembly.

Aggregates can come closer to an offroader if needed.

The engine has almost reached the assembly line.

The more the personnel works, the more it gets.

A mount is another element of assembly.

There are two assembly lines at the enterprise. The 1st one is intended for SsangYong Rexton II, SsangYong Kyron and SsangYong Actyon Sports.

The 2nd – for SsangYong NEW Actyon.

Initial process of framed free vehicle assembly.

    Framed based assembly.

Electronic devices guide people through the assembly process.

Then the body is attached and fixed.

    They call it ‘a wedding’.

Now the car is considered assembled. It is filled with needed fluids under the pressure to exclude the entry of air.

    Fueling of another car.

The car moves on its own.

    First test.

After moving through the barrier line the car is examined for any damages.

The girl checks the wrecks used in car assembly. If an instrument doesn’t correspond to the settled parameters it will be discarded.

    Dynamic tests.

And another examination for any damages after that.

If any damages are found the car is sent for repairs.

If there are no damages the car is examined for external defects.

In case of external defects a car is sent to the paint-spraying booth.

Many defects are eliminated at the place of examination.

The car is ready for use. But it will be used not by a buyer yet but at a testing facility.

125 offroaders are assembled per shift. Each of them has its own buyer already.

No details are produced here. They are all imported from Korea. But this year a new plant is launched that will deal with details of Russian origin.

The cars are loaded onto the train and transferred to the western part of Russia.

The plant will soon participate in assembly of Japanese cars as well.

I personally think the older Jaguars were much better looking than most cars and they were not just concepts. In a close second I like the Plymouth SuperBird, the car was so good it was outlawed for NASCAR racing purposes.
