The Russian Knights Flying Over Iran

Posted on January 30, 2012 by kulichik

The Russian Knights were coming back home after the aviation show in Bahrain and were escorted by Iranian fighter planes while flying over the territory of Iran.

One of the pilots said that the Iranians behaved in a very correct and polite way.

Back before the “revolution” in 79, they had F-4′s & F-14′s. I’m surprised the 14 is still flying. It was interesting, after the revolution, the AIM-54 systems suddenly “quit working” after the American advisors left the country.

Before the Islamic revolution, Iran got the newest weapon technology from the USA.Even technology that wasn’t introduced into the US military by that time.
Meanwhile,Iran has backward engineered all the American tech, and even improved them, while they can make spare parts for USA airplanes also.

Loved the pictures!! Did the Russian pilots took it from a domestic digital camera?? I have always thought that the airplanes have an special camera, on the shell or something like that.

Most shots that we get to see are from regular cameras. Some military aircraft carry special cameras for reconnaissance, but we rarely get to see those pictures. Many fighters & bombers carry cameras for evidence of action. Fighters carry gun cameras & bombers carry bomb damage assessment recorders.

The way I see it, the US wants war a lot more than Iran does.

If they keep pushing US naval forces closer and closer to Iran’s Gulf coast, they are going to spark a confrontation with a Iranian patrol boat or something, and thats going to be the first domino.

US needs constant fear of war and violence to terrorize the Arabs int investing their money – as a safe haven – in the greenback that it is printing at the rate of eighty billions every month. This Ponzi Scheme is run by the Fed and is bound to burst sooner or later taking Sheikdoms and kingdoms with it. Mark my word!

George, you’re kidding, you think Iran is itching to start a war? Dude, it’s the US and Israel that are itching for an excuse to attack Iran, with Israel just claiming that it should be done before the summer. Please get informed.

That had to be odd for the Russian pilots to be intercepted by US built F-4 phantoms. How they could still be flying these after 33 years with no spare parts?

Everyone is talking about F-4 when they should be admiring the awesome F-14′s flying! Considering Iran is fairly advanced when it comes to manufacturing ability’s in the middle east, its no surprise they can create there own parts and still fly these planes.

It is a great thing to me to see those F-4s and F-14s in the air. I grew up in the heyday of the F-4 during the Vietnam era. My father was in the USAF and stationed at McDill AFB where 1000s of F-4s came and went. My most favorite fighter/bomber jet ever!
