    Assorted Russia, Part 42

Happy New Year, citizens of the city of Petrozavodsk!

One of the residents of Mytischi, the Moscow Region, had waited for his EMS express mail for close to a month, when he decided to come to the post office personally to pick up his mail. That’s what he saw there:

After several visits to the post office and a written request to find his mail, he finally succeeded.

Next time you pour some juice into a glass, be careful because there you may find this:

This device is familiar to all Soviet people because each family used to have it in their house.

To make candies, we are going to need some sugar, water, vegetable oil and a flavoring.

First of all, you have to oil the form.

Then, mix all the ingredients and heat it up.

This is what you’ll have 10 minutes later.

Pour the boiling mix into the form, stick toothpicks into it and put the form into the fridge.

In Byelorussia, some people use cellars instead of the fridge.

    Enjoy!

‘Pride of the Academy’, ‘Faculty of Book Business, Documentation and Museology’.

This looks like a regular photograph of students. But there is something mysterious about it…

    These knees make us nervous…

What is that, they found in the orange juice? It looks nasty whatever it is.
Also in the ‘Pride of the Academy’ Picture, What do the signs say they are holding?

Petrozavodsk: A great city founded during Peter the Great’s time as an industrial town. Of course we are all at the mercy of the environment.
