    What Makes Our Childhood Happy

    ‘Kransnoyarsk’

‘Biryusinka’ factory was founded in 1942 and now it is one of the leading producers of toys, carnival costumes for children and adults and Christmas tree decorations in Russia.

It is the only factory of its type in Siberia.

In this department, they make toys of plastisol.

Parts of future toys are drying out.

Yes, it seems like we’ve been transported into the past.

    They paint toy parts manually.

Close to a thousand of people used to work for this factory and now there are less than one hundred of employees. The main reason is that there is no demand for their goods because the market is occupied by cheap and low quality Chinese products.

There they keep cloths for soft toys and carnival costumes.

In the department  of stuffed animals.

They make stuffed animals of all sizes.

    Glassblowers.

They go everything manually and receive less than $400 per month.

Each shift is able to produce about 250 Christmas tree decorations.

    It’s very noisy in here.

Each Christmas tree decoration should be blown out in no more than 7 seconds. If it takes the glassblower more time, then the ball turns out defective.

    Defective goods.

For some reason, all glassblowers at this factory are female.

Christmas tree decorations are put into this vacuum tank with aluminium wires. When the temperature is high enough, aluminium covers the surface of the balls within one minute.

Some balls are covered with paint instead of aluminium.

    It’s handmade too.

    ‘Krasnoyarsk’.

This is a custom made ball intended for ‘Flamp’ company.

At the factory, there is a store where you can buy Christmas tree decorations produced here.

Besides, for just 30 cents they will write anything you want on your decoration.

    Location: Krasnoyarsk

If a childhood Christmas was more spiritually happy and less materialistic then maybe we would be less inclined to steal and kill each other when we became adults.
