    Instead of a Real Baby?

    21
    Posted on November 30, 2011 by ok4u2bu

Reborn baby dolls look so real that sometimes you don’t even think it is a doll! It takes them up to a year to make a doll. They are made in a sole copy and sold by auction, on the Internet and at fairs.

The hobby of creating reborn baby dolls began around 1990 when doll enthusiasts wanted more realistic dolls. Since then, an industry surrounding Reborn dolls has emerged. Depending on craftsmanship, they range in price from hundreds to thousands of dollars.

On the Internet, there are hundreds of mummies who are crazy about Reborn babies and this is what they say about it in specialized blogs…

‘Hello everybody! The other day, Arseny and I had a walk in a park and took a bunch of photos. Let’s listen to what my son says:

‘It was a cloudy morning and I didn’t want to wake up. I was enjoying my sleep’.

‘Then a phone rang and mom began to talk to someone. She came up to me and said we had to get ready for a walk and that some friends of ours were coming by. I didn’t want to get up, so I cried out loud’.

‘Then mummy said that it was going to be fun, so I calmed down’.

‘It was cold outside and I understood why I had to put on my warm jacket. I was about to burst into tears again but mummy showed me a real squirrel so I didn’t!’

‘I wanted to touch the squirrel so badly!’

‘That forest made me want to sleep… But as soon as I began dropping off, a dog came up and started barking!’

‘Here we are! Right at the feeding trough!’

‘It got colder and mummy wrapped me up’.

‘At home she made me try on a one-piece suit she made for some girl’.

‘Then I played for some time and went to bed’.

    ‘Good-bye everyone!’

    Another ‘mummy’:

‘Now it’s my turn to tell my story. Look who we have in our family now! This is Alesha! I can’t help playing with him all the time!’

‘This is my daughter, my everything!
I’m happy that she is just like I’ve imagined her to be. So beautiful and gentle. She’s my second doll and doesn’t look like her older sister at all! The older one is serious and Varya is sort of cunning. I don’t know what I would do if I hadn’t had these two in my life’.

Somehow it’s just shallow and spooky.

Very realistic looking dolls, but very creepy. I thought the squirrel was pretty cool though! Different than the black squirrels, running around my yard in the snow, as I type this.

No they are all fake these things cost a couple hundred US dollars and they are very detailed.I saw a TV show about taboos and part of it they showed women with these fake babies people on the street walked up thinking that they where real(you how people do when they see you with a baby well I assume that you have kids yours self) some of the people got pretty pissed off when they realized the babies where fake only after they did not move.

To be honest I would rather a person with such issues have a fake life like looking doll than a real child.

This is a trend that got started in the US back in the 1990′s.It is really odd I agree the people wanting to have these things are in left field to say the least so i am all for allowing some nut case have a fake life like doll and not have a real life child that they would surely cause harm to if not physical harm than surely physiological harm.

I don’t see why people get so shocked with these dolls. I’m an avid collector of reborn dolls myself, but it’s not worse than, say, someone who collects cans of Coke or match boxes.

I always find is humorous when I take one of my reborn dolls out in public. People are absolutely shocked when I tell them it’s a doll and not an actual baby. In any case, I love my fake little babies and thoroughly enjoy the hobby.
