3 An Abandoned Military Unit

An Abandoned Military Unit

Posted on November 28, 2011 by

Just several years ago this military unit was operational and this is what it looks like now…

Some of the military hardware have been destroyed completely…

In the cabin.

Its number of kilometers travelled is not that big, isn’t it?

‘Passenger transportation is prohibited’.

Some kind of a shelter.

Apart from the cars, there are tanks and reels scattered on the territory.

An antennae.

A storage-bunker.

Its gates.

Vent shafts.

‘In case of fire, break the glass, push the button and wait for beeping’.

Dosimeters.

A bus.

‘Kremenchuk Automobile Factory. Model: KrAZ-255B; year of production: 1987. Made in the USSR’.

Cylinders.

‘Compressed air’.

‘Air service machine 5L94. Instructions on transportation by train and by water’.

A thick cover from something.

KrAZs.

‘KrAZ’.

An UAZ.

  1. ayaa says:

After the USSR breakup, whole Soviet Army divisions were abandoned by the new leadership. Without funds and support the men of these divisions had no choice but to walk away, leaving everything behind.

    Terrible.

  2. Otis R. Needleman says:

Russia must be the world leader in the sheer number of abandoned places and the sheer amount of abandoned stuff.
