Unusual Ship In the Harbor of Kiev

The ship is one of two vessels that moor in the harbor of Kiev. They are the Dnieper Plaza and the ship in the picture named St. Andrew. All the other vessels were removed following the order of President.

The ship belongs to Aleksandr Ktitorchuk who is one of the most famous photographers of Ukraine. People from showbiz and world of fashion know the person well enough.

Nobody is indifferent about the photographer. People either hate him or adore him.

The ship is unique as there is no other similar vessel in the world. Aleksandr made it with his own hands. He is an airman and has always had a dream to have a ship of his own.

First he bought a written-off tug and hired craftsmen to rebuild it totally. Only engines and bottom of the old ship remained which will be substituted as well because old engines of the Soviet times occupy a lot of space. The small library is filled with books and furniture that can be used during reading. When the library was ready, the owner asked his friends to gift him half a meter of books for the birthday. That is how the library was completed.

It took 3 years to reconstruct the ship and now a club for men is available.

The photographer chose and installed every detail. The cabin is intended for watching movies.

The stairs lead to the upper deck.

If there are too many people aboard, you can seclude yourself here.

There are three different restaurants. This one is located at the second deck.

The Blüthner piano is 105 years old and is used by stars invited to the ship.

The restaurant at the lower deck is made in quite another style (something between ‘country’ and ‘province’).

This is the biggest restaurant with karaoke, live music and DJ equipment.

The ship is often hired by people who want to celebrate meaningful events of their life.

That is an old photo. Now a good deck stage is available.

By the way, ordinary people prefer not to go inside. They keep photographing but do not go aboard. There may be two reasons for that: they can either feel scared of the internal luxury or respect private property too much. The situation may change soon as the ship has been there only for a month.

Prices here are not high as compared to the ones that can be found in the center of the city. Besides, every Friday and Saturday visitors will get free photos made by Ktitorchuk. People usually pay much for the photos.

    De luxe cabin.

The place is famous for moderate prices, good quality and proximity to the center of the city. The ship was allowed to stay in the harbor because the owner is going to create an art gallery under a bridge.

    Location: Kiev

But if it wasn’t for your misfortunes
I’d be a heavenly person today

I doubt very much, that the photographer had anything else doing with the rebuilding of the ship, than choosing materials from the catalog. I bet he didn’t even hammer a single nail himself. ‘Building with ones own hands’ is not the same as choosing from the catalog, and deciding what to put where.

Built the ship by his own hand is such a bluff. Luck guy, you just see art people becoming successful these days.

great ship. but i must say, the interior design is horrable…the furniture, the colors, the lightfixtures are so bad. the two things that are positive are the beautiful wooden stairs and the piano.

Luxury yachting on frugal budget. Bad combination… if you can’t afford to do it right why bother?
