    The Airport Of Ufa

    7
Posted on November 17, 2011 by kulichik

Let’s go to an airport located in Ufa city that was reconstructed 4 years ago.

The airport was built in the Soviet time and reconstructed in 2007.

A hotel is situated in front of the airport. The prices are far from being high.

You can leave your car on the territory of the airport and pay less than 10 US dollars for it. Or you can park not far from the building and this time it will be free of charge.

    Interior design looks very ordinary.

Would you like to buy a souvenir?

One can have a meal before the flight at the Moscow hotel.

    Food is very cheap here.

By the way, honey, the country is rich with, can be taken to the plane easily and in any amount you like.

There is a small Orthodox chapel where one can pray before the flight. A place where Muslims can pray is also available.

    The hall for official delegations.

Every hall is supplied with smoking rooms that have a detailed instruction saying how one needs to smoke. ‘Hold a cigarette above the table, inhale the smoke towards the lamp. Put a burning cigarette-end into an ash-tray’.

    The main hall.

The airport has a security service of its own. The dogs know how to search for drugs and explosive materials.

Now let’s go to a forbidden area.

It is not that interesting and consists of numerous rooms.

    UTC, Moscow, Ufa. ALARM.

And back to the area with a common access.

    Check-in counters.

Here crew members age getting ready for a flight.

    Hazards in the airport area.

Before a flight pilots go to the meteorology division and ask employees about the weather. An operator compares data on weather obtained during the last month and makes a prognosis.

    Stewardesses.

The airport has two air-strips but only one of them is used. The second air-strip which is 3,7 km long was built in 1980 as a reserved air-strip for Buran landing.

Up to 1990 a vast network of airlines functioned in the republic. Many of them are abandoned now.

While in Ufa, a person can fly in 40 different directions. The airport accepts planes that belong to 23 companies. As far as international flights go, one can fly to Egypt,Turkey and Bulgaria from here.

During many years of work there was only one accident. Once passengers were taken hostage by two criminals who wanted to fly to Pakistan. They killed two passengers and were arrested in the end.

Wow, souvenirs, food, and a “forbidden zone”, who would have thought these things would be in an airport?

And “Food is very cheap here”. Thats not Australia ! If we want to buy a sandwich at our airport here in town we had better bring our cheque book.

In Dublin, the prices have come down over the last 2 years a lot, but no shops are open after 11 or 12.

I’m sure the extra runway, although unsed, but reserved for Buran, will bring alot more tourists..
*Come see the abandoned runway, reserved for Buran only – but expect a delay on landing, since we only have 1 runway we can use..*
