    New Moscow Metro Stations

    9
    Posted on November 10, 2011 by ok4u2bu

This December in Moscow they plan to open three new metro stations. Let’s go and see how it’s going there!

    ‘Moscow Metro. Zyablikovo Metro Station’.

This station’s going to be the terminal station of the line, so it’s also the farthest of the three. Pay attention to the parapet walls. They were designed in this way so that people could not put empty bottles or leave garbage on them.

    Ventilation pipes.

This’s going to be a passage to another station.

    Finishing.

Sometimes because of some nearby utility lines, they have to build rails bending.

This gallery of lighting service is situated above the station’s tracks.

    Shipilovskaya Metro Station.

    Floor heating.

    Assembly of escalators.

    A vestibule.

These triangles on the ceiling will create a certain play of light and shadow.

    Lamps are triangular too.

The Metro Directory reflects the pace of development of the green line.

This is a hermetic gate which’s going to be used ‘in case a war begins’.

    ‘Moscow Metro. Shipilovskaya Metro Station’.

    Installing handrails.

    ‘Moscow Metro. Borisovo Metro Station’.

It has a very unusual lighting and a ceiling.

One of the lamps of the station.

This is going to be a directory stand.

    An escalator.

    They’ve begun to assemble it.

    ‘Borderline of Borisovo Metro Station’.

This is an escalator engine room.

These engines set the escalator in motion.

I think the gravitation to which the leveling is adjusted right would be just the same on the static escalator as on the floor.

Looks very modern design! In contrast to Kiev’s new metro stations that somehow look trapped into architectural design of the 60′s, seems that Moscow metro has desire to give a fresh look to their stations.

“Pay attention to the parapet walls. They were designed in this way so that people could not put empty bottles or leave garbage on them.” – Might be easier to have a garbage can nearby.
