Travelling In The Urals

Enjoy some photos taken during a seven-day tour in the Urals!

On the way. When the road is this good, it seems like you can drive forever!

Approaching the city of Kazan. On the left there is a city-island called Swiyazhsk.

The road situation is very mysterious in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Google Maps show R-316 Road which in fact can hardly be subjugated by FWD vehicles especially after rain because it has no asphalt. Navigators are really confused.

This rock (called Aktash) is located on the Zilim River and is considered one of the most beautiful places in Bashkiriya.

In the Bashkir language ‘aktash’ means ‘white stone’.

Some say that they charge people for entering this beach. But as far as you can see, people are not really excited to come here. The ones who are are some cows grazing among piles of garbage.

The Zilim is not really deep but it has a strong current and very cold water. In some places you can cross it on foot. On the banks there are two different villages: Yurmash and Aktashevo.

This is a serpentine road going through the Urals.

Sabakty Lake. There are plenty of tourists here any time of the year. The residents of the city of Magnitogorsk are very lucky to live so close to this beautiful place (just 30 kilometers away).

Make sure you have good brakes on your bike because mountain slopes are really steep here.

And be careful on the road because it is very stony.

some really nice photos. How fast you can drive on these 4-lane roads? I heard the limit is 100km/h, but Russian police won’t do much if you go 150.

Nothing much but ram you off the road. That is just epic. Old police Lada 2100’s forcing new modern, sleek sedans of the highways.

I agree with what you said about the P.O. a few posts back. I still write letters and mail things. And as bad as the strip mine is, humans need minerals- we are tied to the planet. I also agree w. Comrade L.S.Z. about the post: Happy motoring.

    The world we live
URALS it is a beautiful place; many times many thoughts come to my mind, of why our plane is so beautiful and every region on is one way. If some look better; must be at that moment of imagination. The bigger problem it is having the wrong living species, (Human beings) they do lots for the progress of themselves. This is why most of the species already disappear from the Earth. For some time humans looking for own destruction; not just the others, but themselves too. We have ¼ of the earth countries with enough weapons of Mass Destruction to destroy the planet. Just Israel alone: one of the small’s countries in the world, having more than ten nuclear bombs. And the stupidity it is been build to coup with his neighbors, which if Israel using the nukes towards them, for sure will affected them too. I feel real sorry live in the world without any future anymore. Any time big catastrophe could come: and the most problems Human beings race are at risk of disappear or vanish for good. Some may say; why I am so negative, and I respond, because the world are full such contrasts’ greed for many useful things that they the elders want before dying. A.Oscar
