Have a look at photos of Nikolai Gorsky who was given the International ‘Photographer of 2009′ Award. He chooses staircases as his favourite object for shooting.

These are great, and for once would be improved without the girl in two of the photos. I can’t believe I just wrote that! O.o
dont like this kind of style, i think the pictures are to boring, he should include something.
historian, I agree except for the one about half way down that nearly needs a black square.
Great stuff, a lot of them look like Escher drawings.
The photographer obviously likes Escher. So do I, but TBH I prefer Vasarely.
This is pretty great! Very, very nice work! I love that he has used the same staircase in many shots, but it looks completely different in each photo. Great work.
