Assorted Russia, Part 29

Posted on September 19, 2011 by team

These are pictures from the fashion show of Yana and Anastasia Shevchenko, whose brand is called YanaStasia. Many popular Russian singers and showmen took part in this event. The majority of Russian stars try to cover the absence of their talent with shocking behaviour or spectacular clothes and this show gave them opportunity to prove it once more. The designers colored stars like matryoshkas with very bright flowers.

Flowers to the designer

In Rostov a woman of about 50-55 has settled near a railway station, under the overpass. She lives in a dugout neatly covered with stones, inside this “house” there is a pile of clothes. May be this is the future for Russian real estate?

The woman refuses any financial help and just asks to leave her alone.

Very strange buckwheat was dicrovered in the small town of Osa, the Perm region. It had doubtful admixtures that emerged in a cup.

Compare real buckwheat and something unreal.

They look like small wooden kegs.

There is even a little nut in each seed. So, one may be deceived now by buying cereals too… By the way, buckwheat has become very expensive this year in Russia…

A robot policeman R.bot was tested on the streets of Perm. The robot height is about 185 cm, weight – 300 kg. Its maximum speed is 10 km/hr. Inside the robot there are 6 cameras. 4 of them have super-wide field of view. Through them, the robot sees practically all details, even bricks. High quality pictures are made by a 8 megapixel camera located behind the armored glass. The high speed camera in a transparent upper part of the robot helps an officer on duty to promptly inspect the location. For the autonomous movement the robot is equipped with 24 additional sensors. In the autonomous mode the robot can work 8 hours or indefinitely long if there are robot fuelling stations nearby.

The robot-policeman named “R. BOT №1″ is the only such machine in Russia, its analogue does not exist in any country. “R. BOT” is the main element of the robot patrol service. Tests of the robot were quite serious and had many nuances. Among robot functions there is monitoring of a situation in the selected location, video surveillance, inspection of documents, first aid to victims, detaction of crimes, etc. So is this another step into robotized future?
