The Construction of Olympic Facilities In Full Swing

Posted on September 6, 2011 by team

In anticipation of the next Winter Olympics which will be held in Sochi, people talk a lot about the construction of Olympic facilities. But unfortunately, there are very few good photo reports on this topic. Here we offer you one of them. Pictures are taken in Krasnaya Polyana (literally: “Beautiful Glade”), a famous ski resort located in one of the districts of Sochi.

The way to Krasnaya Polyana lies through the gorge.

Here is a bus stop and many hotels under construction. One building is very similar to an old train station…

This is the only operating cableway. Everything around is under construction…

A there and back ticket costs 700 rubles (about $23). Let’s go up.

The view in the direction of Adler.

Each cable car seats 8 people.

    1500 m above sea level.

The views from the car are much more interesting than those from the top…

    Approaching the last stop…

At the top you are not allowed to go beyond the red fence.

At a height of 2.200 m there is a strong smell of car exhaust fumes.

This picture is taken from an observation deck. The cableway is right behind the photographer.

    The observation deck.

The mountains here look just like hills, although their height is more than 2 km.

“Together to the new heights” – the slogan of a sponsor.

    The view from the top.

    A toilet?

Hopefully, all facilities will have been built by 2014 and the Olympic Games will go well.

    Cutting through the rock!

But the main thing is still not to fall down!

    Location: Krasnaya Polyana

Another Russian “World’s Largest” project. Largest amount of money ever wasted on Winter Olympics.

Of course. When its Russia spending money on anything, its always a waste. But when its the so-called west thats doing the spending, well I don’t know what it is to you, but it’s certainly not a waste.

Another completely useless index used by you people to downgrade Russia. Corruption Index indeed. How do you measure corruption, huh? Do you just go over to a official and ask “Do you take bribes?”. Russia is also similarly lowly ranked in the “Happiness Index”. A ridiculous western propaganda tool. How do you measure happiness? You cant! If you ask a Russian “Are you happy?” it stands for “Yavlyayutsya Vami schastlivyi”. I techincally refers to the specials moments in life. If you ask a the new bride or groom, or the recent graduate, or parent of a new born, you would get a yes. But if you ask a random passerby on the street, he would say no. But if you were to ask “Yavlyayutsya Vami udovletvorennyi vashyei zhiznyu?” which stands for “are you satisfied with your life?” then you would get the real answer. But the people who created the index didn’t want to did they.

Not a toilet, but another tele-cabine cablecar;) Top station on summit, plant-machinery installing pylon base lower down slope in front of summit. Dangerous work at 45 degree slope.
