    Falling House Of Vladivostok

If you stay in Vladivostok be ready that your house can be destroyed at any time. This one you see in the picture was built in 1950 and never reconstructed since then. According to official sources, one part of the dwelling couldn’t survive repairs and fell down. In the meantime, the accident was impartially viewed by other inhabitants of the place from adjacent block of flats.

Pay attention in the end to the guys on the next balcony who came out to calmly watch their house ruining… Badass imperturbability!

    Location: Vladivostok

This building was undergoing “repair”. Most likely it was being “repaired” in a fashion similar to nearly completed yellow building nearby.
It looks as though vital structural elements (lintels) above the (new) windows may have been compromised, resulting in the catastrophic failure. Other areas of the building may be at risk for similar failure.
I hope no one was injured.

Interesting, photo nr. 8: the modern style rescue worker versus the Soviet style policeman…

A fine example of Soviet construction.
