23 Grandiose Air Show MAKS-2011. Part 2

Grandiose Air Show MAKS-2011. Part 2

Posted on August 22, 2011 by team

As you already know MAKS-2011 opened its doors on the 16th of August. The main novelties of this event became the largest passenger aircraft Airbus A380 and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Many pictures of the show are after the jump.

The first day of the show.

The huge Airbus A380 makes an impression.

Though the An-124 Ruslan standing opposite with an opened mouth seems no smaller.

In the background of its neighbors, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner looks quite modest.

Still it’s the first aircraft designed entirely on computer. Its developers emphasize that they didn’t spend a single roll of drawing paper while designing the 787.

The MiG-29OVT starts the flight program.

The US military men watch the acrobatic rolls in the sky. The MiG 29 is able to turn around in the air and perform complex maneuvers that usual fighters are not able to perform.

The widely promoted Sukhoi Superjet 100.

The pilot of the Antonov-158 who apparently adopted the manner of landing from the Superjet nearly crowned the flight with disaster. The aircraft leaned to the left having torn the rear landing gear off the ground.

The smallest manned aircraft Cri-Cri is barely seen on the runway. Its weight is amazing, only 140 kg.

After the smallest aircraft it’s the turn of the largest one, the Airbus A380.

Slow and ponderous, it looks like an elephant in the air. It slowly turns around flying over the field and it seems it’s about to collapse.

To everybody’s surprise, it has a fairly short running start and very quiet engines.

Helicopters continue the program.

The Be-200 pours out painted water.

The Americans get off the ground being accompanied by energetic music.

The fast F-15 Eagle rushes in the stormy sky.

The F-15 seems to be significantly faster than all Russian combat aircraft, though less maneuvering.

It set a record which is still not broken by any other plane. It reached the height of 4 km in 10 seconds.

The multi-purpose fighter Su-37 and the front-line bomber Su-34.

The Frenchmen arrived in the evening.

The trainer Yak-130 showed nothing special and quickly flew away.

The second day of the show.

American and Russian fighters are the most beautiful machines, and the best around. The Su-Ta50 looks very cool in its introduction. The B-52 and the Airbus are impressive. Even the French Rafale is nice. I didn’t see the Eurofighter, though. Amazing show and pics.

The guy who painted Russian supersonic bombers should suffer long-lasting diarrhea. How is that possible such beautiful peace of Hi-Tech multimillion dollars machinery painted so poorly? I mean, common! Seriously….
