Why can’t young people here have this kind of fun? They’re huddled together in closed rooms with their freaking smart phones, texting and playing games on 2 in. screens.
If “here” is America, they would all get arrested for trespassing or an illegal congregation without a permit.
While I’m here, could someone explain a “play date?” Kids have to schedule their fun now? “Yeah, we can run around in the back yard, hunt for cool bugs and play video games, but not until next Thursday from 4-6 pm.”
Only rich, suburban brats whose bourgeois parents drive minivans or crossovers have “play dates.” Lower middle class kids still can be seen in my neighborhood skateboarding around outside in the evening.
