Training Of Marine Infantry In Sevastopol

    32
Posted on July 31, 2011 by kulichik

Today you will get a chance to see how marine infantry in Sevastopol is trained.

    Training young soldiers.

There are no separate rooms for 3-4 people and soldiers stay in barracks. The premise requires renovation but being on the territory of a foreign state presupposes numerous coordinated efforts related to import of any belongings.

This very barrack in the picture embraces even more people now as one floor is occupied by new soldiers who are distributed into units after they go through the course of beginner’s training. The sports ground was also shifted aside.

Every sailor is given a gym suit.

    And running shoes.

    A piece of wild nature.

    Day room.

    Utility room.

    Wash stand.

    Shower bath.

The video control system enables a soldier on duty to see who enters the barrack. ‘Concentration, combat alert, alert, heightened military danger, high danger’.

Helmets and armor vests. The vests contain a life-jacket, ensuring support on the float, which consists of 2 chambers and a special automatized system of gas filling.

Training operation: landing troops will have to land first the deck and then the shore.

The company column is approaching the shore.

The ship is ready to pick up the load.

The troops are backed up by vertical artillerymen ready to withstand a possible attack.

    Equipment is on shipboard.

The troops are landing into deep waters.

    Getting ashore.

    Fighting the enemy.

As soon as the enemy is captured the class is over. The troops are leaving the territory.

Equipment makes entrance far from being easy.

Can anyone explain the use of colored poles (held by two marines) at the unloading of the ship?

Defending the Motherland (although this is in Ukraine) from American imperialism, neo-fascism, Islamic separatists, Georgian super-nationalists, Extreme Sports rowdies and drunkards, bazooka-wielding hooligans, and cucumber festival infiltrators.

Well, two men from Georgia did conquer Russia, so maybe they should be afraid…

That LST (Landing Ship-Tank) is a lot of boat!

I’m surprised at the high superstructure, and would wonder at the radar return it gave even at a distance.

Of course, according to the sub guys, there are ONLY two types of ship: Submarines, and Targets.

      Nice post!

Only because Soviet doctrine relocated ethinic Russians to the sattelite states in order to dilute the blood of the local population.

In a real all-out war, you wouldn’t have six course meals. You would have to live off the land, eating plants and small animals. Russian troops are not spoonfed. They are prepared for the hardships of a real war! It appears you are not.

Trust me I know. I’ve done 7 years of service in the Russian Ground Forces. The first four were in the 4th Kantemirovskaya Guards brigade based in Voronezh. Then I did the Spetsnaz course and joined the 16th Spetsnaz brigade, based in Tambov.

NO we don’t eat lizards in action. But that sounds like the sort of thing that you might do, if you were in such a situation. We were trained to differentiate between poisonous and harmful food, and those that are good.

A military should be judged on the care it gives it’s fighters. Give them the best food, equipment, training and pay, and you will get the best fighters. That is a tried and true methodology. The problem is Russia has never valued life as much as the west. Thus it is ok to sacrifice soldiers in human wave attacks. It also shows in their respect for civilians and their property. Anyone under the boot of the Russian Army better hide his food, his, money, and his women.

Really? You should be ashamed of yourself because Your Army has never really fought any wars. Only thing they do really is to go and cook for the Americans and the British in war zones who are incidentally are their masters by the way. I didn’t even know that you have an Army by the way. Which war have you ever fought and won by the way? Zilch. Only thing you are famous for is that you were sent to Australia as convicts.

How about you come over to Russia, and say that at a Russian military base?!! Then you would see what standards we have at our barracks. And as for $30,000 per soldier, our equipment are not sophisticated and expensive. They are designed to be reliable, dependable and cheap, so that they can be manufactured in numbers.

Folks, no need to fight. Let’s respect these men’s service. I am sure they do their best with what they have. Should these troops have better living conditions? Absolutely, and I hope they will get them. Is their equipment good? I believe so. Is it as advanced as some other countries? Some probably is, some is not. Far as the Australians and Russians go, stop fighting. Believe the Australians and Russians who fought the Axis during WWII would laugh at your whining. They fought and died, and gave up their tomorrows, so we could have our lives. Historian…wrong, Russian soldiers did miss food during WWII. Read “The Taste of War”, by Lizzie Collingham. Good book about food in WWII.

1)If by MR spetsnaz you are referring to me, let me tell you this. My grandfathers never fought in WWII. But both great-grandfathers on my mothers side did and died in the first year of fighting. So show some respect when you say such things.
2)How the hell would you know anything about the Russian Army to make ridiculous comments about our salaries. I rose to the rank of Captain and my monthly salary was around $2200, plus an additional $500 or so since I’d done the Spetsnaz course.
And by the way, it appears my english is better than yours.
