One Flight From Moscow To Tbilisi

    17
Posted on July 24, 2011 by kulichik

Today we’ll make a flight from Moscow to the capital of Georgia. Georgia is a sovereign state in the Caucasus region of Eurasia and a former member of the USSR. Let’s see the elevated view of territories from above.

Flight from the Domodedovo airport in Moscow. Airplanes are repaired in these sheds.

Forest has just survived the frozen rain.

The industrial area between Kashirskoye and Belokamenskoye Highways.

    The town of Lytkarino.

    Two airplanes.

It is said that seeing two airplanes at once brings luck.

Kashirskoye Highway and the  Moscow Ring Road.

The Domodedovo airport with the stadium in the center.

    The rainbow.

Orlovsky village in the Rostov region.

Lake Manich is a large saltwater reservoir lake in Kalmykia.

Fields of  the Stavropol Territory or north of   Kalmykia.

    The Caucasus Mountains.

The Terek River is a major river in the Northern Caucasus.

The eastern border of Tbilisi. A hydroelectric power station is located in that region.

The village of Dzegvi is based on the Kura river.

    Tbilisi.

The TV aerial and  an amusement park.

New building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

    A military airbase.

    Another airport.

The airplane belonged to the former President of Georgia, Eduard Shevardnadze.

What do you expect after 70 years of Soviet rule? Many shots of Russia look like the third world too. Per George Will, Russia is a third world country. I do not agree with him.

Georgian police are subsidizing their income, you must pay them for the pictures you take.
Cuba and Georgia are an interesting comparison, both small, both compromised by a large neighbor to the north.
MarxistWorker thinks there is a difference, imperialism is imperialism, but I will say this: USA will get Cuba back as soon as Fidel dies, why? because, Cubans want to come back. Russia will never get Georgia back. In light of the USA’s budget crisis, I propose we halt foreign aid EVERYWHERE. Then we will see where the chips will fall. Aide to the states and cities, not foreign criminals, they will have to find their party money somewhere elsewhere.

Now listen, you are talking too much common sense. We can’t have that in these politically correct times!

Aerial photography is cool. Notice how humans love euclidean geometry. Mathematics is our master.

“Maybe we can show government how to operate better as a result of better architecture”.
        Frank Lloyd Wright

Take a look at the wonderful Soviet architecture in the last few frames. Old Tbilisi is a beautiful city, these “Khrushchevka” buildings are a man made slum, close to the airport.

If they’re slums now (under capitalism), they weren’t then (pre-1991 under Socialism).

The picture of the houses where they use all the land to grow food (smart people) is really cool and the mountains of course are nice to look at as well.
