Maksim Ksuta is a collagist, portrait painter and historiographer who graduated from the the Moscow State Aviation Technological University. His next 9 pieces of work consist of small photos of masterpieces which when viewed at a distance turn into portraits of the artist’s friends.

According to his words, a living form in the art has ceased to exist in the modern world which is getting ready to embrace something new instead. These are photos of paintings, sculptures and architectural details grouped according to different epochs starting from the antiquity and to our times.

Very Dali-esque. Not extremely original. Interesting though. I prefer the classics though

I´ve seen sht like since I don´t know when. Not original at all. Considering the artist is younger than me.

I could write a piece of software to do that “image made of images”-art in a day or so.
Basicly you take a low resolution “target” image and a database of images sorted by their mean color. Apply best matching image from the database for each pixel of the “target” image and construct the result.

The result could be made better by taking multiple samples from the images in the database.
