The author said: “In my house there always were a lot of picturesque dried pumpkins. Its story was humanly tragic: it was very beautiful, but lonely, because I could not find her a company suitable in texture and color, so to create a still life. For a long time the pumpkin wandered from the shelves to window sills, from sills to boxes, out of a box and on a shelf again. And then one day I bought a new scanner. It remarkably scanned photographs, negatives and slides. When the work with films became ordinary, an idea occured itself: how will look dimentional objects on the scanner glass. And that was the time for the pumpkin. I scanned it from different sides, looked, and had an idea”.
“Having made dozens of scans at different scales and perspectives, I gathered them all in Photoshop in one composition … Within the next week a thorough revision on window sills and flower pots from relatives, friends and acquaintances was held. So was born this series of scanographies. ”
