A Green Lawn But Without Grass

Posted on June 10, 2011 by team

In Saransk the ground near a new perinatal medical center suddenly became green. But what is the matter?

Russian officials were going to visit this place, but the grass hadn’t had enough time to grow before their arrival. Local authorities found a very simple solution (as they condider it to be) : they decided just to paint the ground.

This serious operation took place in the heavy rain and by the help of several men dressed in green ( may be it is not an accident? ) raincoats.

This event of course wasn’t deprived of jounalists’ and internet bloggers’ interest..

Some of them suppose that it is a hydroseeding, a kind of a new agricultural technology.

Yes, it’s hydro seeding. The “mulch” and seed combo they use IS dyed green, but it’s NOT PAINT.

How that painted colourful environment reminds me of Tarkovski’s movie Stalker. Real world is too black and white.

Hopefully they were smart and used lead paint. It makes the colors brighter.

They do that in the USA south west a lot…When you can’t keep your yard alive, you can just paint it.

Oh, please, it is hydroseeding and the moderator knows it very well, but if you don´t have a story you have to create it, don´t you?

Funny thing, we do this here in the US. The green is to let you know you have good coverage. What’s being sprayed on is a mix of plant fiber and grass seeds. The plant fiber keeps the rain from eroding the soil and washing the grass seed away until the grass seed can sprout.

Not to be confused with Nevada Regreen where dead grass is painted green to try to sell foreclosure McMansionville Ghost Town housing.
