Today we’ll get a chance to visit a real heaven for everyone having a sweet tooth and those who like making chocolate presents. It is not advisable to look at the pictures if you are hungry for sweets and can’t run out and buy some immediately.

Lviv chocolate workshop is a wonderful place. The first floor embraces a chocolate house and a cafe where one can taste coffee and hot chocolate. The second floor contains a shop where chocolate goods are sold.

At the first floor you can have chocolate cheesecakes and a cup of coffee. A chocolate candy will be given to you as a present. There are fresh flowers and knitted towels on the tables.

Abundance of chocolate hearts, hares and candies will surprise you.

By the way, on special days and hours it is possible to buy chocolate here at half price!

90 g of hot chocolate will cost you 2.5 USD. You may find it expensive but the product is worth it.

On the girl’s T-shirt it is written: “A sweet girl from Lviv”. The personnel is really sweet and nice.

Here are some names of candies: Sophie, Magnifica, Chocolatier.

It considered bad manners to wipe dirty fingers on a rag after you have eaten chocolate; only licking is accepted.

There is one more interesting fact: about 550 thousand tonnes of chocolate is eaten in the world annually. The cost accounts for 20 billion dollars.

Scientists believe that chocolate as well as laughter increase duration of life. But dogs can’t eat chocolate. Even s small chocolate bar that weights 50-60 g can cause fatal poisoning in dogs.

It is not easy to find good chocolate as soy substitutes are widely used today. Real chocolate is entirely handy made.

Lviv cafe is the best cafe in Ukraine. But the best chocolate in the world is still made in the Transcarpathian region.

    Fridge magnets.

    Chocolate earings.

You can also choose different candies and place them in a box which will be beautifully packed.

In ancient times cacao grains were considered as a monetary unit. 1 slave cost 100 cacao grains, 1 horse – 50 grains.

Original cups can also be bought here.

The workshop opens at 10 and is immediately filled with tourists.

Did you know that chocolate contains a little bit of substances which are present in marijuana? But in order to get the effect it’s necessary to eat 14 kg of chocolate at once.

Visit the workshop in Lviv and you will start chocolate addiction that can stay with you for ever.

Unfortunately Ukrainian Chocolate is not that good, too little butter and cacao and too much milk, not as good as the Austrians meant it to be.

Still, at least they don’t overload it with sugar like the Scandinavians do. Or use sour milk like a certain US chocolatier.

Thanks for the warning Akira. I don’t doubt what you say and I’ve heard Austrian hot chocolate is out of this World but I’m going to have to try it anyway.

Maybe this place in Lviv is the exception. Because it looks to me like they serve real hot chocolate too and not some cheap watery milky mix that you find everywhere here in the US.

I went to this place in Lviv… perhaps not affordable for the local population but currency de-evaluation meant this was one of the most affordable and better tasting chocolates I’ve had.

True… there is ‘better’ chocolate in Northern Italy, Austria and Switzerland but those are niche enterprises for the global upper class and most people (unlike the chocolate shop in Lviv) can’t really necessitate spending $5 on a chocolate bar.

Why the hell is Lviv on this site related to Russia? Lviv has NO connection to Russia.
