    Ghost Military Base

    11
Posted on May 16, 2011 by kulichik

Russia has always paid enormous attention to strengthening of its military power.  In former times  numerous military bases with restricted access were set up along the whole territory of the country.

Investing now in new missile technologies and modern tanks the country abandoned USSR military objects
one of which is located next to the town of Kirzhach.

Missiles are distributed all over the field.

Take a look at the panoramic view.

These are the remnants of the snow plow.

    Location: Kirzhach, the Vladimir Region

I would’ve been honoured to serve the Soviet Union in the Military.

I’ll never understand how so many places and so much stuff can just be abandoned.

If it was not worth transporting, then it was left behind. Simple. Junk is junk.

The fourth photograph from the bottom, there is tiny satellite dish on the wall and all the windows are intact. And the red cabin truck looks allright. Maybe that building is no abandoned at all.

I think those are rather lightbulb enclosures or loudspeaker bells.

I will come and collect it and pay you for it as well. I suppose there is no radiation contamination. A common problem with metals from Russia.

It makes me wonder how much explosive and toxic chemicals were abandoned around there. Missile fuel isn’t the safest stuff on the planet…
