Cannibal Fish Found

Posted on May 14, 2011 by kulichik

Piranhas which inhabit the Amazon River basin can snap a finger off a hand easily. But Russia has never known such a disaster until…

It seems that being inspired by the success of Piranha 3D movie the cannibalistic fishes decided to reveal themselves to the world by appearing in non-native environment.

Imagine the surprise of the Russian fishermen who managed to catch a piranha that weighed around 7 pounds in a suburb of the Rostov-on-Don city, located in  the southern part of Russia.

I am just surprised to see that a tropical fish like that could survive long enough to get that big in a Russian waterway. I would figure that the winter freeze would have killed it off.

  9. OLUT says:

Maybe someone had the fish as a pet, then it got too big and they threw it in the water. I hope there aren’t more!

If you look up piranha this fish really doesn’t look like one-it’s too big, and shaped differently…
