You have already seen the photos of the Moscow of 1931. And now it’s time to show you the pictures of St. Petersburg that were shot by the same traveller in the same year. Later they were colored with acrylic paints. Check out, the result is really beautiful!

    LENINGRAD in 1931, Comrades. And I like the name Petrograd (for Russia since 1991).

    My only problem with these pics is the over the top coloring (look at the rosy cheeks on all the girls), but otherwise this is pretty awesome. Everyone looks happy even though they were living under… um… Communism.
