The Hydro Power Plant In Moldova

The Dubassari plant is a hydroelectric power plant and an important strategical construction at the Dniester river near Dubassari, Moldova. And it is also a border between former parts of one and the same country. The plant is the first electrification enterprise in Moldova. It was started in 1950 and was over in 1955. An interesting fact: people of about 30 nationalities have taken part in the plant construction.

    But it is Moldova on the both sides of the Dniestr! Just one side (“Transdniestria”) decided to declare “independence” with the help of Yelstin and Putin, but this is recongnized by no one!
    Officially, Both sides of the Dniestr river are in Moldova!

    As we can see in one picture, the power lines with Moldavia was cut, due the seccesionism insurrection. Maybe because of this problem, was no money to upgrade the technology there…

      Moldova from the left side of Dniester uses import electricity from Romania and Ukraine imported by Union Fenosa. That HPP only supplies Pridnestrovie (Transnistria), thus why power lines are cut.
