The exhibition of the Tkachev brothers has lately been opened at the Tretyakov Gallery. These amazing artists are well-known to everybody who is at least slightly familiar with art. They work together on all paintings and depict beautiful village life.

A Belorussian village. Alexey Tkachov. 1948.

His self-portrait made 4 years earlier than the previous photo.

Brothers at work. 1963.

Novye Kotchische village. Sketching. 1984.

Mothers. 1961. One of their early works.

Between the battles. 1959-60.

    BTW, impressionism became obsolete by 1900. The painters missed the train by some 60-80 yrs. It must have been one heck of a party :D
