Assorted Russia, Part 9

Posted on January 13, 2011 by team

Another part of the mixed news on what have happened in Russia these days.  Have you ever thought of how the Spider Man’s granny looks?

There she is.

Mosaic panel on one of the stations of the Moscow Underground. The way it looked before the accident.

And this is the way it looks now because of its partial collapse.

That kid needs a lot more snow to jump in than that small amount. He could hurt himself if he hasn’t already.

And what is going on with granny?

  3. George Johnson says:

    Partial collapse…. very optimistic.

  4. Jim-Bob says:

That’s not a mosaic….it’s a fresco or a painting. Mosaics are made up of tiles while frescoes are made by dying wet plaster as it dries. Paintings are self-explanitory.

  5. Critter says:

The mosaic depicts Kiev not Moscow. Is it really in Moscow?

Yes, I recognized the monument of Bogdan Khmelnitsky and St. Sophia church in Kiev. But I don’t remember any fresco or any other piece of art in Kiev underground.
