On the 8th of January the sappers exploded a suspicious box resembling a bomb mechanism right near the gates of the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin. Strange enough but this extraordinary event wasn’t even mentioned anywhere. Here you have a chance to see in details how it all was happening.

At 2.35 p.m. the police officer being on duty that day got a command to evacuate people from St Basil’s Cathedral and close its doors. There were 40 visitors inside at that moment and all of them were dispersed to numerous rooms and corridors of the cathedral. So the officer, who was alone, managed to evacuate only 3-4 people. 10 minutes later there was another command: nobody is allowed to leave. By that time Red Square had already been cordoned off.

And the box was peacefully lying on the ground. The black thing on the left is a heavy coffer used, at first, for covering the bomb.

This dangerous mission was entrusted to this astronaut.

Its so great – why would the author call the man “astronaut”? Last time I checked spacetravellers from that part of the world are called “kosmonauts”….haha

So now that the US is retiring the space shuttle, this is what the astronauts are doing for work?
