The Reconstruction Of 1941 War Parade In Moscow

Posted on November 10, 2010 by team

On the 7th of November Moscow held a grandiose theatrical performance. The parade in Red Square was reconstructing the war parade of 1941, after which the troops had gone exactly to the battlefield. Different corps that took part in the performance were clothed in the World War II Soviet military uniform.

    A. Bunka here. Foist! Just like the Red Army, right, Testi-breath?

  2. Mitch says:

Why have they all got guns, I thought for realism, most would have had to pick up guns from dead comrades who were shot by their own troops from behind with a machine gun?

    • CBEH says:

You watch too many movies and take them as truth. That was a lie, inaccurate depiction of Russian history. That movie offended the real soldiers of that war who went to go see it, they walked out of that movie in complete disgust.

You think people like Mitch learn history from other sources??? They haven’t heard about history books, and books at all.

  3. Matchlok says:

cool photos! Too bad the lovely ladies from FEMEN don’t stage a full nude veterans day parade in Odessa or Kiev!

  4. George Johnson says:

I wonder, do they machine gun the ones that don’t participate?

I’m sure this is all OK for fun and stuff. But for accuracy? Nah. Mostly propaganda for the people….

  5. Richard says:

These people look very cold with nose’s red from cold

  6. eger_666 says:

You people who ask “do they machine gun blah blah” play CoD too much.

  7. Bogdanov says:

Every major country (which the Cz Rep. is not) has an obsession with some part of their history. Every day in the U.S. the people hear about “9-11″.

  8. Chris says:

    @CZenda, you’re a fool.

To not understand why Russians (along with other Soviet citizens), who killed 75%-90% of German soldiers in stopping Hitler, “obsess” with WWII is ignorant in the extreme, especially if you’re from eastern Europe. If you’re American you can be excused.

    • CZenda says:

I am not from Eastern Europe. I am from Central Europe. And I live in a city liberated by Yanks, not Soviets. Unfortunately, Patton was not allowed to march all the way to Prague. It would have saved us from 40 yrs of the barbarian Communist dictatorship.

  9. xoxo says:

perhaps you mean “Reenactment”, not “reconstruction”…

    • NickNep says:

The guys with these flags designate the position on the square. Like lighthouse. And parade is aligned orientating with them.

  10. RandomJoe says:

What is the meaning of the different colored cloth squares on the rifle barrels(bayonets)? The condition of some of those weapons looks pretty good considering their age.
