I think “human animals” is too harsh. At least for the little kids, they didn’t have any real choice. When you’re that little you have no idea the dangers, and I feel very bad for them.

OK, I see the junkies with needles. But some of the other pictures: It looks like boys digging in dirt, what is that? And I see 3 women passing cigarettes around? Cigarettes are bad, but not on the same level as needles. So what am I missing in these pictures?

you should feel sorry for these people, and there should be possibilities for them to get out of this situation.
They may be human animals to you, but they’re still people. I think it’s a little bit harsh to say human animals.

Unfortunately many people are born into a certain level of society…the environment they grow up in and poverty take a toll and they end up like that. They are kind of trapped by their circumstance.

Anyone has the right to choose what to do with their lives. Drugs aren’t bad if used moderately. Stop judging, they are people just like all of us.

This child is just doing what ever he can to bond with his “FATHER”. These children are just looking for love and accptence from their parents so they are going to do whatever it takes to get it.
This posting is an inhumane and distorted perception of addiction. You clearly have little knowledge about the insidiousness of this disease and the environmental, biological, and genetic factors that are at play. Rather than possess what I can only ascertain as a bitter and judgmental view of addicts, why not feel concern and compassion for this life that consumes them?
The photos with father and son indicate that this was not the son’s choice to become an addict, but was the natural path that he was lead to, due to his father’s addiction. Please try to consider the past that has brought these individuals to this place. The connection between trauma and addiction is very strong, and a photograph is not ever going to tell the whole story.
The position you present is fair my friend.The problem i see is systemic-social-economic and environmental yet i fear not too many people dare say or even imagine a world where individuals are not compelled to these life style dead ends all though every life is one . Utopian they say and story ends there… blame is put on the proper places… we think and continue living ..Tis a rococo a pasa tempo, suffering for the pain of others has become an unpopular thing to be doing… i am a hypocrite just like those that know they are.
I say where are the people around them_?yet I have seen it, the state is the glorified will of the contemporary individual. I feel sorry for the kid. This is not the right age to go for drugs.
The title is misleading. I don’t see how drug-use is in any way animal-like. I was expecting people behaving like animals, furry stuff and such.
The only person in these pictures that could be considered an animal is the man who appears to be the young boys father. All of these people seem to have a drug issue to deal with, and no one should judge unless they have walked in their shoes. Those of you who call these people animals are too judgemental, and need to show compassion for a fellow man who has many more issues in life to deal with than you self-righteous pompous asses who feel that you are better than all of the rest. It is easy to insult and assume the worst of others, but hard to stand up and try to do something to help. Just my opinion…

Wrong. For a lot of people it’s really not up to them what happens in their lives. A lot of people find themselves in bad situations through no real fault of their own, including drug addiction. Often addicts are people who have been abused in some way and turn to drugs in despair, or slide into addiction as circumstances conspire against them. Some babies are even *born* addicted.
Whoever wrote this title and caption should be ashamed. These are not animals, these are people just you. These are people’s sons, daughters, mothers and fathers. People who didn’t have the same chances in life as you did.
