so whos that girl that gets representet by the4 statue? Shield and sword? whats the symbolism behind that?

That is Mother Motherland – the great monument to the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany. It is an analogue of a sort to Mother Motherland in Volgograd.
The shield still depicts the seal of the USSR.

It looks like that statue is made out of aluminum.Unlike Liberty that is green copper!
Notice how this post is not spelled Kyiv? Ooops!
This website is EnglishRussia.com. In English it is spelled Kiev, for like the last 200 years. Duh!
What is your point?I was simply making a comparison between two statues! Please write something that makes sense Soviet!!
Awesome pictures.. bring the high feeling to my feet when saw them…
very cool pictures, I didn’t know that Kiev looked like that. A very impressive city. Thanks for the picture uploads…
Awesome pictures, especially the picture taken from upside of the handrail(shoes are on it).
Amazing photos – those guys have no fear of heights, whereas I feel like throwing up just looking at their incredible photos!
I can understand that some people don’t suffer from vertigo, but they have no control over the wind. What happens if there’s a sudden strong gust? Splat! Please take care in future!
Great pics! Those are some brave lads…
Great pix. I got a bit of vertigo, though.
Thank you for posting. I love this city.
