The Novosibisk Region is situated in the south-east of the West Siberian Plain. Its total area is 178, 2 thousand km. There are a lot of various lakes in the region: sweet, saline, bitter ones … The main rivers are the Ob and the Om. The vast territory of the region is occupied by the largest in the world swamp – Vasyugan.

      btw, how cold does it get in winter? how much snow do they get in novosibirsk?

    i lived 300km southwest from Novosib. its about -35 -45 in winter, 2-3 meters of snow (depends of some parameters).
    and besides Bear Grills was there )))

    Russia and Canada share many similarities. These pictures seen almost identical to northern Saskatchewan, Canada. Beautiful indeed.

    Also lived in another city nearby. There are a lot of damned ticks that carry encephalitis. When we went to the forest we would check each other every 2 hours to make sure no ticks on the skin. In the past government would spray some chemicals around major cities, so it was safer. Now they can bite you even in the city.

      Alexi, the chemical was probably DDT, which was fine for you, but not so good for other things in the environment. And, the local government probably can’t afford to conduct a mass-spraying in the area any way.
