“Best Photographer 2009″ – Winners’ Works

In May, 14th in Moscow were awarded best photographers of 2009. Their works became the material for a great closing exhibition “Best Photographer 2009″.

14500 works and 2000 photographers from 29 countries nominated for a prize. Winners have been defined in 12 professional and 10 amateur categories. Additionally there were presented prizes in the following nominations: “Grand Prize”, “Photo of the Year”, “Photo Series of the Year”, “Discovery of the Year”, “Special Prize For Students”. Winners of key nominations received not only considerable money prizes but unique silver statues “Argentum” as well.

    So, what is going on in this picture? Hand on throat and body position suggests forcible sodomy.

    She looks dead and he looks like he is crying over her. Very tragic!

    Wonderful Pictures!
    I like the little girl at the water’s edge looking in to the clouded sky the most. I like how she looks both strong and fragile next to those the two natural forces/elements (water & air). Very Nice!

      I disagree. His hand is on her throat choking her, and her hand is on his wrist as if to break away from the choke hold.

      Please, try to accept reality when it presents itself, even if the imagery is not so nice.
