        Yep, pics are nice.

But this whole celebration was over the top. Costs were over 30 million or so, and this while veterans and other pensioners have to beg at metro stations because their pensions are so $@#$@%%$%$ low that they can not afford food or decent lifestyle.

And I’m Russian, so no flaming pls…

Actually, pensions in Moscow are quite high. My grandpa (WW2 veteran) gets 24k roubles and this is more than average salary of a women or young man.

Pensions differ from one region to the other. Moscow has different pensions i.e. than St. Pete.

            But not that much.
Maybe there is also a difference for people that were involved in actual battle and simple survivors that were connected sideways [like providing medical help]. My babushka gets about 7k rbl p/month [235 USD].

Her husband went missing during the war [officer] but the authorities refused to confirm his death so they did not have to pay extra pension.

Veterans’ pensions are good. My grandma gets more than 20,000. She lives in the village near Belgorod.

cool story bro. Old babushkas begging in metro are all babushaks of russia? Bums exist, yeah. Not without them. My grandfather’s pension is 25k rubles. I guess your granny is VERY unlucky, or you are just a lier.

Russia is lacking a lot of stuff, including schools and hospitals. I’m not even talking about roads. They could probably pave half of the moscow for these money.

dont forget russia earns a lot of money by selling military hardware to other countries and such a parade is very good PR. good PR -> higher sales -> more income -> more money for hospitals/schools/roads

The result will be sharp decline in quality [was already poor] and the poorest people will suffer the most.
          Like the pensioners, again.

I have always liked Russian aircraft. I guess they seem exotic because I grew up around USAF aircraft (dad was in the AF). There is nothing in the air like a Russian Bear! Beautiful airplane.

Only downside to these pics is the smog. It looks as bad there as cities here. That is a shame. Such a beautiful land needs to be seen.

What so special about airplanes and choppers that were developed mostly with American and French technology that was reversed engineered and rebuilt into a bigger aircraft and new designs using it just like the space shuttle .

My father WWII veteran and my mom live in Siberia quite well on their pensions. Putin is doing great job with fallow ups on pensions. City pays all utilities+ medical bills+free condo, last year they missed to get free car from government as a veteran of WWII, this year they suppose to get new free condo from government again. This is great! I don’t think I will get their living standards after my retirement. I think we should be reasonable, each country has own issues, also we should analyze each “babushka” profile in Russia to understand why she has to make money in her age. Same we should do for example if we visit San Diego central library after 10 PM and see 20-30 old people sleeping every night next to it on sidewalks. I live in this great city and it’s so sad to see nice people suffering.

Russia is going to lead the world in the following areas:

      1. Space heavy lift capability – Obama has just destroyed our space program so that now we can’t even lift anything into orbit.

      2. Heavy cargo planes – Russia always had the biggest but America had better, until Obama cut that too.

      3. Helicopters – Russia always had bigger but Americas was better, until Obama scaled back the V-22 and cut the other heavy lift and intermediate projects.

      3. All ranges of fighter aircraft. The Raptor(f-22) is the best fighter in the world. If we would actually produce it that would be really cool but we won’t thanks to Obama. The f-35 tries to do too many things to be truly effective and further development is halted thanks to, you guessed it, Obama. Meanwhile the Sukhoi 37 is amazing and continues to be improved.

BUT HEY, WE HAVE THE FATTEST BANKERS IN THE WORLD THANKS TO OBAMA, ISN’T THAT SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF?
