    And Armaments for All

Posted on April 19, 2010 by russia

Russian google street view fail 1

Strange situation was caught up on Russian analogue of Google street view. On one of the streets of St. Petersburg city there are clearly visible people with guns in the middle of the bright day, looking like just got those guns from some office. Taking in consideration that most types of guns are illegal to own for a common person in Russia, and clearly not legal to carry it openly except while on hunting makes this bit puzzling.

Here in Canada, the ownership, storage and carrying of firearms and cartridges is strictly regulated. Yet, most farmer’s truck, when they come into our shop for tires or repair, we find live and spent cartridges, and usually a rifle or two, all the time.

I have a Saiga 12 gauge. It is awesome. Not as cool as my carbine but it does a lot of damage. Glad I don’t live in a Nanny State like Canada.

looks like a Saiga rifle with wood furnitures, 20″ barrel
either 7.62 or 223, maybe the new 5.45×39.
that dude was probably taking it home for a conversion job, good luck buying a bullet guide and replacement FCG in Russia.

It’s a hunting rifle version of Kalashnikov. Nothing special here. Move on.
