molesting russian pranksters from Ukraine 1

On Monday after Easter prankster of Lviv city, Ukraine are performing black jokes on all passers by. It started as some small fun but eventually grew up into a massive all city wide prank when people, especially young girls are being wetted with water by crowds of youngsters. And it’s not warm outsides, the weather is just little bit warmer than in winter.

There is nothing wrong with those young fellows that several hard punches in the face and a half dozen kicks in the balls to make sure they never breed would not cure.

This is a custom present in Transylvania region of Romania too and at least in Romania it comes from the Catholic Hungarians. There also is custom of giving perfume to girls. Therefore I assume that the custom must have arrived from the Poles. I wonder if this custom exists in other formerly Greek-Catholic regions such as Western Belarus.

If that was my son his ass would hurt for a week and i would need a new belt .

After that he would be sent to a nice military school for a year to earn respect and learn some discipline.

If its my wife or daughter the parents better call the cops before i do .

Russia, of course. This is not funny at all. One picture shows a guy being kicked in the kidneys. Not funny. Girls crying on the street. Not funny.

I feel the urge to grab a few of these ‘funny youngsters’ and hold them upside down in the river. For 15 minutes or so.

It’s a tradion, on monday after easter. Also in Poland. It start’s long long time ago (as long as X-mas:).
The idea of wet monsday is close to valenitne’s day. If boy like girl then he will pour water on her. If girl don’t get wet she will be an old maid. There’s a lot of fun and not much of water.
Nowadays it’s become a water fight beetwen group of boys with unarmed (in water of course:) old people and lonely girl. Water is often unclean, taken from a city river.

Dyngus Day or Wet Monday (Polish Śmigus-dyngus) is the name for Easter Monday in Poland. It is a peculiar custom on this day and it is splashing everyone with cold water. Why, for centuries it was a pagan custom to clear your self and house before Spring will came, after Christianity came to Poland that custom had the same symbolic but related to clear you soul from sins. Pagan custom became a Christian custom and everybody is happy.
It is really a watery day, elderly just asperse heads with perfumes but children and teenagers are really having a fun. Mark of good fun in that day is how many times you will have to go back to home to change your ware. Young men are driving streets hunting for some girls to splash with cold water, and everyone else. They watch to catch you near the church or after the church.
You have to go to visit someone, family, friends or just your neighbors and water splashes them. It will bring him/her good luck for whole year and naturally it is good fun for everyone. This is really happy, funny and watery day no matter is it raining.

Yes, that’s a centuries old tradition. In Czech and Slovak Republics they have the tradition of whipping the girls with willow switches on Easter Monday, so that they will be healthy and fertile during year to come. And the girls give men painted eggs in return (hence the beginning of Easter Bunny – a toned down version of this custom).

I live in Lviv and was on the square watching it. No ‘crying’, aggression or anything else the commentators here have falsified.

And by the way, it’s fine to speak Russian in Lviv (but not act Russian of course)…

I don´t knew, but here in swe the carnivales very often includes water throwing (at least at summertime…) but now in these days You will probably get arrested by the police for that i one throw water randomly into people, thats boring, if folk´s don´t like water they can just choose to not be there (i talk about the city carnivales in swe i dont knew if it´s the same thing or even similar to this shown here, @ my opinion the first rule is that everybody shall hawe fun!!)) Can remember some incidents when i was younger and hurled water randomly into the crowd just to discower that the bottle i got was not containg water but contained some sort of concentrated green coloured soap… Guess i dived very quickley under the cars window and drag my T-shirt over my face when the MC police passed by… :D Lucky ecape that time… Then some one threw rotten fish from a truck on the street instead… XD

But if you look at the graduation pics they all jump in the water at fountains, me thinks the eastern europeans love the water. Also if its an old tradition, shouldn’t you wear a rain coat and get out your umbrella? Still young punks acting like a pack of wolves. In london they had a Facebook waterfight in the park, a girl wet a chav who was holding a waterpistol and he decked her. Now thats a real disgace. He got arrested I think.

This tradition would be banned in most other countries, In alot of western countries it’s classified as assault if you throw an unidentified liquid on someone. This makes it even worse since they’re complete random strangers.

Personally I wouldn’t support such a tradition if women are subjected to harassment against their will which is obviously what’s happening from the looks of the photos. It’s easy to say “well they can just stay inside” and no that should not be the case. When a woman takes an angry swing at you the minute you’re tossing water on her then that means she doesn’t want to be a part of a national wet t-shirt contest in the middle of the winter. That should be understandable and enforced by the local police force.

It’s obvious that the cops don’t care and I suspect it’s pretty common and normal for these men to harass and abuse women not only on national wet days but daily.
