    Submarine Goes Dock

Posted on January 9, 2010 by russia

    Russian submarine Ukraine

When this leading pearl of Ukrainian fleet was taken to dock many experienced aged mechanics wondered how come it reached the dock at all.

“It’s just great that Ukraine has refused to have nuclear weapons.”, note some.

Nuclear? possibly nuclear weapons, but this is a foxtrot submarine (or was one). Diesel electric. Any nuclear weapons were theoretically removed when the Ukraine was spun off of the Soviet Union..

      Awesome pics, REALLY appreciate it!

Rick, the word “awesome” has absolutely nothing to do with either this post, or this boat.

I can’t ignore the fact that the tags are a bit wrong, again.

This vessel was a part of the Soviet RB Northern Fleet in Murmansk, deployed in 1970. Later went to the Black Sea Fleet. Transferred to the Ukrainian Navy in 1997, so where’s the part where it belonged to the Russian Navy then? Soviet Union isn’t Russia! ):<

AW, I like these kind of articles!
