Bad Luck

These guys weren’t so lucky while participating in a rally event. Somehow their car managed to turn over in the very middle of the contest. But eventually they fixed it
up and continued their race with just a few bruises and a good deal of adrenalin left. BTW, the camera man was not a bad one and caught several saucy moments.

Birth of a Traffic Jam

Nowadays the main obstacle to having a car in Russia is not even a bad state of its roads but constant traffic jams. Daily from 6 am to 11 am and from 6pm till 11 pm all the roads are heavily jam-packed. In mornings people trying to get to their jobs and unis somehow, whether by a car or
by bus to get to the nearest metro stations to avoid these clogged roads with heavy traffic. And the same thing happens when people coming back home from their jobs and unis, striving to get home to have a meal and to rest after the heavy day of a backbreaking job.

1947 Stalingrad; American Journalists’ Viewpoint

The early spring lasted. Little by little city was getting better after one of the stiffest battles that the land of the USSR has ever seen. City, which at the present time is called Volgograd (yeah, that’s exactly the place where the Mother Russia monument is located), but back then at times of the USSR it was called Stalingrad and was totally leveled by the German army during
Battle for Stalingrad in 1942-1943. In 1947 the Cold War didn’t started yet, so the relations between 2 military allies, the USSR and the USA, allowed such “exchange” trips. In this article you will see lots of different things, most of them are really horrifying, but still, they belong to the history of the USSR and no one can blot them out.

Similar Number Plates

And Minsk again here. The other day in Minsk there were spotted 4 cars with the same number plates on them. Presently, local KGB tries to tell the cause of such a strange incident. Maybe
there is some man that masterminds of it. Moreover, all four cars are kind of premium ones and belong to one class and it seems like the KGB’s guesswork is quite right.

Has Byelorussia left Russia and Ukraine far behind?

Let’s make a reservation – it’s hard to confirm, but some facts are rather eloquent. Despite Belarus’ territorial proximity to Russia, for some reason, many ex-USSR citizens still believe Byelorussia to be a poverty-ridden, agrarian country that has not
gone far from some Moldova or Tajikistan in its development. In fact living standards in this country are practically the same as in Russia or Ukraine. And in such aspects as cleanness and order Belarus will leave any CIS country far behind.
