    Sex Drugs and Petersburg

    Russian Junkies

One foreign lady photographer went down to the bottom of society of St. Petersburg Russia, where she has met children, junkies, prostitutes or often all together in one and made all those photos.

Sniffing poisonous glues inducing hallucinations seems to be one of the main fun for those kids.

The photos might look disturbing for someone..

Lucky here in Brazil we don’t have Meth or Heroin, otherwise we’ll be all doomed… To have crack is bad enough, crack is a plague on Brazil, a real social problem.

Meth labs are so common in the Desert Southwest you can sometimes smell them in the air!

Mexico is producing the most meth now because of big drug busts by the DEA in the states. In 2005 to 2007 Utah and Missori were the largest manufacturers of meth in the country.

In my 35 years of life, born and raised here in Brazil, I never seen Meth or heard of it in here. And I lived in Rio de Janeiro some years.

Heroin, on the other hand, in the big cities like Rio and São Paulo, if you have enough money, yes, you can have some. But isn’t a popular drug, absolutely. People don’t like needles here, this is a fact. Maybe, if you can look pretty hard and have money, you can get some Meth. To have no meth at all is an impossibility, but nothing like in the USA, where to get Meth and Heroin you just need money, the offer is no problem.

In Brazil, Marijuana is common, very very popular, “socially accepted” on big cities, almost. Cocaine too, but less expressive because of the quality and price, but it’s very easy to find. LSD and Ecstasy are also common on big cities. Crack, in other hand, is a plague, many many children addicted on the entire country, an ugly picture.

Crack alone is very know to produce pictures far worse than these from Russia. By the way, between poor people, glue is popular across the country, exactly like on the photos above.

Definitely is not a privilege from Russia these pictures, I am 100% sure that similar pictures can come from any part of the globe.

Yes, free sterile needles, condoms and pregnancy tests.

I’m surprised they didn’t get a picture of an addict injecting something underneath their tongue!

It’s tragic to see someone young trying so hard to distroy themselves because some horrible adult has convinced them that they don’t deserve anything better!

Yes, is very sad and they need help. But they’re a drop of water in the ocean. There’s not enough help to all the addicted on the world.

And the drugs are the symptom, not the cause. They use the drugs as an escape. Ruined homes, lack of perspective, poverty, no qualification to find a job and other social problems are the real cause of this. At least they have some little help with these free condoms and free needles, better than don’t having them.

The girls are pretty, it’s a pity to see them in this situation. But I’m not surprised with this kind of situation anymore, doesn’t impress me anymore since a long time.

The world isn’t pretty, you know? And I’m not talking about Russia.

I’m tired to see scenes almost like these in broad daylight, on the street. The bigger the city, more common they are.

People *MUST* see these scenes. Definitely. To know that these things exist, so when someone talk on addicteds, everyone knows for sure of what thew’re talking about.
