Prehistoric Horror in the Pond 2.0

    21
Posted on May 29, 2008 by russia

Some time ago we had a story of “prehistoric fish in Russian pond“. Many opinions have been expressed on this, many thought these were triops, and the size of them was much smaller than it was in the article text. But see this now: another time such creatures caught now in different Russian city and now on the video. These things are huge and they look unfriendly, just imagine somebody go swimming to their pond. And people say it’s 3 feet long!

Take a look at those cool posts too:

If this thing is really 3ft, than the stick is over a meter. Also look at the texture of the concrete. I think this crab is about 1/9 feet long. Not more.

I’ve seen Russian concrete, macadam and asphalt. That is probably a pathway in a park next to a pond. The triops is not 3 feet long, none of them are, it’s only a few inches at most. Call this a mystery? I hope Russian news doesn’t go this way, its way too American.

It seems kind of cruel to poke at this little 3 inch guy with a stick. Let them go!

I agree, this triops is sitting on a coarse wooden floorboard and being poked with a really small stick. I’d be surprised if it’s any longer than 3 cm or so.

i’d like to believe it’s some sort of foot long radiation mutated Triop!

i agree with barco, when you see something like this, put a coin or something next to it that we can all use as a point of reference.

Yeah, but they want us to believe that thing could actually be that big, so they won’t do that.
Poor thing. It keeps moving it’s legs- It’s trying to breath. But of course, it can’t, because it isn’t in the water.

That’s a triops. Probably Triops Numidicus. They don’t get to 3 feet, or 5-6 feet, and they are harmless. They will never bite you.

      So… All lies.

It’s not a horseshoe crab. They have exoskeletons and stiff tails and basically look nothing like this.
