Moscow parade at Russian “Victory Day” has got one strange accident. When tanks were rolling through the city center suddenly the loud shot was heard and after that one of the tanks started burning. Who organized this attack stays unclear.

twas me.
Russian tanks seem to be more advanced than the soviet ones. The soviet tanks had to be lit with Molotov\’s cocktails but these monsters burn by themselves
More likely a fuel leak or something in the engine compartment, not an ‘attack’.
yeah, i agree. don’t try to cover up a faulty tank with “an attack”
Exactly — typical ER “journalism”.
I still love ER, my best bookmark
still good for random pix and vids
This happened to many Iraqi tanks during their disastrous war they waged against us in 1980-1988. We discovered that excessive buildup of flatulence inside Iraqi (Arab) tank compartments made them like a rolling Molotov cocktail waiting to be ignited. We hastily assembled teams of commando/sappers to sneak up to tanks, knock on the hatch, and say “hello inside I am a lost bedouin girl who needs help from brave Iraqi soldier.” Meanwhile, as tankers debated among them to see if any was brave, the sapper would take very deep drags on a cigarette, causing it to glow brightly. When the hatch was opened, we dropped the lit cigarette inside, which resulted in flame similar to that in photos above.
I sympathize with my Russian brothers and advise them that when inside the tank, stop the smoking, or stop the flatulating. It makes for dangerous and embarrassing combination.
Just fireworks, special effects! Our hardware is very good and works all the time!
Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back!
What about the russian tanks performance at “Al faa”campaign?there Saddam used his heavy metals very wisely.despite the working temp,was above 46 degrees! ! ! ! ! !i must say,lack of maintenance and scheduled checks are common causes of “these attacks”! ! ! ! ! !
Dear Zaffy you are correct that the Iraqis were able to do okay in the al-Faw peninsula, but only after advice, leadership, and technical help from their Russian advisors after we gained control of much of the area around strategic city of Basrah. Were you one? If so, perhaps you witnessed the brave willingness to fight to the death of thousands of our young Persian men called “Baseej,” while the Iraqi (Arab) dogs retreated when faced with this. Now, all these years later, we own Basrah once again (thank you, British, for not interfering!) . . .and Najah . . . and Kerbala . . . and Nasiriyah . . . (yawn) and on we go further to the West, liberating people from infidel influence and Arab ignorance as we go. My life’s work really gives me warm feelings when I reflect on it like this. I think I would like to hug someone now.
Actually we were working on both side at that time! ! ! ! ! ! !specially our agency,the evaluation and testing department of soviet ministry of defence.can you imagine,some time we were worked, one week in Iraq and another week in Iran side! ! ! ! ! ! ! we were and still we are very thankful to both of you,for providing very useful technical data.specially thanks for use of SCUDs.we love you! ! ! ! ! ! !

Agreed, I heard in another forum that has real Russian people on it that there was a problem with the engine. Blown head gasket? Those really are high performance diesels. You get a lot of horse power in a small package and that results in more stress on a given engines components. These are not engines you will find in regular Volkswagons or even trucks.
I once heard a turbine engine from an M-1 tank “pile up” as they say. I was about 1/4 mile away and I heard the engine rev like an airliner taking off and the just a VERY loud WHAP!! And the kind of a SHHHRACK!! sound. All you saw through the trees was a big flash of fire then nothing.
The management is once again lame.
true, true, no outer damage marks or any exposive residues/shrapnel in the road, mostlikely faulty engine
actually if you look at the open cover, it is dented as if something hit it from the outside
The cause of “dent” is due to build up of high pressure of ignition of something gasoline or else.
Or it was warped by the heat.
since when does you hitting something bend it outwards?
go stand on your car bonnet and tell me which way it bends you dipstick, and then have a good look at the photo.
These things happend. Nothing speical with russian tanks though..
Looks like it’s the right place an time for a nice BBQ!
Typical case of engine problems. Attack… With all the people walking around in such a relaxed way… Yeah right…
Think about “London bombing” ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
ok, i’m thinking about it. now what?
Think again about”the Moscow theater saga” ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
They also shot out a headlight of the car in the last picture.
look how dusty the inside of the left headlight is. it’s just as dirty as the cover of the right headlight meaning it was broken a long time ago
Not in Russia. Insides are as dirty as outsides.
not THAT dirty. if you look closely at the right light, you can see a little silver thru the cover and dust.
and a second thing: the headlamps are flush with the hood, therefore if something caused the dent on the left corner of the hood, it would have also shattered the light cover.
Какая атака? Что за бред? Наши “бравые” вояки поди гайку где то недовернули
Is there big trouble in little russia
seems there is an unknown uprising brewing over there
look for all out civil war in the next few mounths
i dont know man,
maybe you are right
Regular day for russian tank
ESTONIANS
I hope they catch the culprits.
Too many onions on the sashlik I guess.
BMD-4 engine blew a headgasket, or maybe battery went up. Scrat335 is right about these engines sometimes spectacularly failing just due to the nature of how much power they output.
Fire is contained to engine compartment, should be fixable if it did not get too hot and warp the hull or engine mounts.

Working both sides? You rascal, you are as wily as a Persian. Would you like to come to work for my Revolutionary Guard Corps? I have lots of exciting overseas assignments if you are interested. We never stopped our work from 1979! So many infidels, so little time.
BMD-3M ?
still unreliable engine.
im whonder why not switched to ismilar to used in t80 engine type.
Lithuanians did! I hate russia…
Strange… what happen? Well unforeseen breakages and failures happen even at the most reliable technics, therefore it is not necessary to inflate this situation.
In vain you so abuse it. It’s very serious. Intended for elite military units of the Russian army (airborne troops).
BMD-4 (A fighting vehicle of a landing of 4th generation). Can airborne from the plane together with crew and overcome water barriers by swimming. Supplied by a suspension bracket with telescopic shock-absorbers.
100-mm a gun/launcher 2А70 (34 shells);
30-mm an automatic gun 2А72 (500 shots);
7,62-mm machine gun PKT (2000);
5,45-mm RPKS-74 (2160);
ATM “Arcane” (four ATM);
ATM 9М113 “Concurs” (four ATM).
THE EXPLANAITION:
Someone of the higher-ups thought up that military diesel engines are “too smoky” for the parade.
Standard diesel fuel was replaced by high-flammable stuff.
What was very probable to happen as a result, happened.
Conspiracy!
