I wouldn’t be surprised if it were drugs. That corner would be the perfect place to spot a junkie.

I suspect that the field Pushkin sits in used to be a park of some kind, and has fallen into disuse and disrepair. Perhaps this is in an area that has experienced a large loss of population?

Considering that Pushikin is easily the greatest Russian laguage poet, there are probably many many statues of him across Russia, not surprising that at least one of them ended up like this. Still somewhat sad.

His eyes are really groovy. He must have smoked a big fat marijuana cigarette while he was posing for that sculpture. On the other hand, his nose doesn’t seem quite right. Maybe he snorted something instead.

      Well, it is very simple.)))
I think, that this site’s moderators want to show you analogy between our Pushkin and Michael Jackson. And it is very strange, that you didn’t find it.
It is well known, that Pushkin and his family has afroamerican rootes, so there exist something in Pushkin’s face and Jackson’s one.

      But about nose – vandalism

Yeah, the Pushkin was a real pimp around St.Petersburg in his days.

“Nataly (his wife) is my one hundred thirteenth true love ;) ” – he wrote.

This is the saddest picture on your site. Wish you would tell us where this is so Pushkin-lovers around the world could take up a collection to rescue this monument.
