Russian Nuclear Dance

Posted on December 15, 2006 by

“This man is Alex, 53.

He works on one of Russian nuclear plants.

Whe he gets to drunk he likes to dance and all other Nuclear plants workers make fun of him.

It’s forbidden to tape inside Russian Nuclear Plants but this was made by a hidden cameraphone.”

Believe it or not but this what we’ve got from our inbox (all our news are submitted by visitors as you know). If this is true than it’s more clear now why the Chernobyl nuclear disaster happened.

    Amazing 😛

  2. Pros says:

    The only problems are:
    – He’s not drunk – maybe just weird a little 🙂
    – It’s not a nuclear plant
    – Chernobyl was a Ukrainian nuclear plant
    – They weren’t drunk either

  3. Tashok says:

That’s on par with Ricky Gervais’ office boogaloo

  4. DJ says:

I think he’s got some nice moves! What’s that dance called? “The Rubber?” or maybe “The Marionette” or “Muppet?”

How do they know he’s drunk? At the risk of embarassing myself (*ahem*), I do this kind of stuff all the time at work, and I’m not drunk. . . of course I work for a record company, and there’s dance music playing all the time.

Human error, lazy inspectors, and poor workmanship caused Chernobyl, not necessarily some guy dancing (hey, at least he enjoys his job!)

  5. Eskafolon says:

Funny. But from what have taken that it is Nuclear station not clearly. And why you think that it is drunk? So can dance only sober, drunk so cannot. Will fall.

  6. Acts_of_Atrocity says:

I think the guy is just bored. You don`t have to be drunk every time you want to have fun, you know…

    (Btw. Elena P = GJ.
    Moderator = phailure. Again.) 😀

  7. narzy says:

    – It’s not a nuclear plant
Yes it is, I recognize the panel behind him and the layout of the room…I can’t tell you how I know but rest assured that is a Russian nuclear reactor control room.

    – Chernobyl was a Ukrainian nuclear plant.

The Ukraine was part of the USSR when the disaster happened, it was by all means a Russian incident, I know today’s Russia would love nothing more then to blame it squarely on the Ukraine (mainly so they don’t have to pay the bill for future cleanup…which runs in the tens of billions USD)

Human error, lazy inspectors, and poor workmanship caused Chernobyl,

workmanship and “lazy inspectors” had very little to do with the Chernobyl catastrophe. it was more a mixture of operator error, experimenting with something they shouldn’t have, pushing the system to the absolute limit and failing to take the proper steps to recover from the mistake. Lack of education played a large role in the disaster.

  8. Pappa says:

Now if those chernobyl workers had been working not dancing.. This surely explains a lot.

  9. Pros says:

    > Yes it is, I recognize the panel behind him and the layout of the room…I can’t tell you how I know but rest assured that is a Russian nuclear reactor control room.

How do you recognize it if you’ve never seen a real one?

    > The Ukraine was part of the USSR when the disaster happened, it was by all means a Russian incident, I know today’s Russia would love nothing more then to blame it squarely on the Ukraine (mainly so they don’t have to pay the bill for future cleanup…which runs in the tens of billions USD)

How USSR makes it a Russian incident? Ukraine was a part of USSR, not Russia. It was operated by Ukranians. Russians built the plant and wrote the instructions, Ukranians did not follow them. It appeared to be a tendency. Here is a quote from the BBC site: “A fighter jet crashed into a crowd at an air show two years ago, a passenger plane was mistakenly shot down during an exercise in 2001 and the year before that, a stray surface-to-surface missile hit a Ukrainian apartment block.” Hundreds (if not thousands) of people died. And the cleanup is being paid by a half of Europe since it’s not just a local problem.

i’m not 100% positive but this does not look like nuclear plant.

  11. Peter says:

You guys seem to like posting news which show people from bad side, compromise them. Seems like you like to make fun of people when they don’t like it. What if this kind of video was shot with you as the leading actor? Would you still publish it so enthusiasticly? Or do you just like to make fun of Russia, as it’s not your country?

    Peter

  12. BashCowboy says:

Hey Pros, you can’t be sure some of those guys weren’t drunk at the chernobyl station. =P

I dunno if its a nuclear plant or not, and I won’t profess to know.

That said: Narzy, you can take my word for it that I’m typing this message from the surface of Mars.

If you’re going to try and form a logical argument, you’re not technically allowed to submit faith based evidence. Like you being familiar enough with a period Russian nuclear power station to identify one in a grainy internet video, AND verify that its not a reconstruction or some sort of television prop.

Why don’t we just laugh at the funny man dancing in front of the intricate control panel, and not focus so much on blaiming entire nations of people for the errors of a select few, regardless of who they were.

    THE REAL HOMER SIMPSON!!!!

  14. Somebody says:

    So what?

  15. dRE says:

I like how everyone is putting an equal sign between USSR and Russia. Shows absolute ignorance! The fact that USSR consisted of many now-independant countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Latvia, Estonia, etc.) and their people were behind the governments and were making day-to-day decisions just doesn’t matter, it’s still Russians and they should be blamed for everything! Ridiculous.

  16. Pros says:

Ignorants, not “Alex”, are the reason why disasters take place. Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin would blow up a nuclear plant – not an alcoholic.

  17. Oleg says:

It is a reactor control room. Chernobyl happened because safeties were deactivated when they shouldnt have because of maintenance. I found this video hilarious. What is that song they are playing?

This is yet another of those things that happen in other countries too. Here is a newspaper article about a nuclear power plant in Sweden where an internal safety report revealed that staff had been drunk at work:
